Today I have been a baking frenzy in the kitchen cooking up deliciousness for this Easter weekend.
I remade these amazing cookie bars I made the other week as a trial. These are a great idea to serve for this weekend's Easter egg hunts or for dessert on Easter Sunday. They are also whole wheat, egg free, and dairy free!!
- You Need:
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup white whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ cup unsweetened apple sauce
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 TBS Truvia
- 1 TBS vanilla extract
- Chia Gel= 2 TBS chia seeds + 6 TBS very warm water
- 1 cup mini Cadbury eggs
First make chia gel and set aside.
Next, mix dry ingredients together. Flour, baking soda, and salt.
Mix the wet ingredients together.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix until smooth and uniform. Add ¾ cup Cadbury eggs ( reserve some for putting on top of dough)
Preheat oven to 350 and spread dough into prepared baking pan. About 1" thickness.
Press remaining Cadbury eggs into dough and bake for 20 minutes.
I decided to cut mine into bunny shapes! If you don't have a cookie cutter these will look just as cute cut up into squares!
