Salted Caramel Bourbon Coffee Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 2oz of espresso or 4oz of strong black coffee
  • 1oz caramel liqueur
  • 1oz bourbon
  • 2oz oat milk (or your milk of choice)

For the Caramel Sauce

- 5.4oz can of coconut cream

- 1/2 cup honey

- 1 tsp sea salt


Instructions

  1. First, make the caramel sauce. This step is optional if you have a preferred store-bought sauce BUT this one is clean and free of any other weird additives! In a small sauce pan on medium high heat, combine the coconut milk, honey, and sea salt. Stir frequently so no burning occurs.
  2. Bring to a boil for 1 minute. Then lower the heat to low and allow to simmer for 25 minutes. Stir every so often.
  3. Allow the sauce to cool completely and store in the fridge for 20-30 minutes. *
  4. Next, make your espresso or coffee.
  5. Rim your glass with the caramel sauce then sea salt.
  6. Pour the espresso into your chosen glass.
  7. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the caramel liqueur, bourbon, and milk. Shake vigorously.
  8. Pour over top of the coffee and garnish with espresso beans and a drizzle of extra caramel sauce.
  9. Enjoy!

Notes

* I recommend making the sauce a day before so it can come together VERY quickly!
