    Easy Oven Roasted Turkey

Oven-Roasted-TurkeyIt is that time of year again. The holidays are speeding up and I am trying hard not to get caught off guard this year. I am determined to be prepared for the coming holidays. I am already making Christmas present lists for our family and friends ( the boys in the family are the hardest to shop for!), thinking about Jake and I’s upcoming anniversary, and of course practicing my turkey roasting skills before the big day!

Thanks to Jennieo I got to have my turkey day dress rehearsal this week with their new Freezer to Oven Roasted Turkey! Seriously, if you are looking for the easiest oven roasted turkey look no further! It was SO easy! I literally took the bird out of my freezer and put it in the oven. It even came pre-seasoned! Jake also didn't mind being the taste tester for this pre-thanksgiving meal!

And of course the kitties got to have some for dinner too! Turkey also makes me think of a quote from Jenna Marbles (if you don’t know who she is, go check her out on You Tube. She’s HILARIOUS!) She made a Thanksgiving video last year and renamed food to what she feels they should be called. She dubbed turkey as “sleepy meat” and it is SO true! You have some turkey and instantly want to curl up and nap. Lol

This turkey was juicy, flavorful, seasoned beautifully, and super easy to make! I recommend this to anyone and especially those of you who are a tad timid when it comes to roasting a big bird like this in the oven!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We have so many things to be thankful for and so many blessings to count and hold near and dear to our hearts. I know I am blessed to have a wonderful husband, family, and a home to share with them!

    What are you thankful for?

    Oven-Roasted-Turkey

    Ingredients:

1 Freezer to oven whole turkey (Jennieo)

    Or

    1 whole turkey

    1 tbs unsalted butter

    1 tbs paprika

    1 teaspoon kosher salt

    1 teaspoon black pepper

    1 lemon, halved

    1 tbs rosemary

    Fresh rosemary sprigs

    Fresh Thyme Sprigs

    Directions:

    Preheat oven to 375

Take bird out of bag, but don’t remove oven safe bag

Puncture oven safe bag (about ½” slits) 6 times and loosen vacuum seal around the bird and place in roasting pan

If using normal bird, just place in roasting pan. Rub with seasonings and butter (stuff lemon and fresh sprigs inside)

Place bird in oven and bake for about 4 to 4.5 hours (depends on weight of bird) I had an 11-12 lb. bird.

    Bake until done.

Carve and serve to your Oven Roasted Turkey hungry guests!

Wait - freezer to oven? I need to look into this ASAP! Defrosting the bird is never one of my favorite things to do.

My Thanksgiving prep would be a whole lot easier if I didn't have to thaw my turkey. Easy and gorgeous to boot, it doesn't get any better than that!
