    Fig and Banana Oatmeal

    Fig and Banana Oatmeal

I have a new found love for oatmeal! I used to HATE it! As a kid I always sat there and would take a bite then it would fill up again! I felt like I was eating so much and it wasn't going away! I feel differently now that I know how to "dress" it up! I came up with this combo after finding my very first crate of fresh figs at the store the other day. Yes, I had my very first fresh fig ( outside of a Newton) for the very first time!!! It was amazing!! I see now why so many people post pictures on Instagram and Pinterest about them!! It tasted so sweet and fresh! This oatmeal is a must try!

    Serves 1, Calories: 330Ingredients:

    • 1 cup water
    • ½ cup of rolled oats
    • 1 tbs chia seeds
    • 1 banana
    • 2 medium figs
    • 1 packet of splenda
    • pecans for garnish

Microwave in a bowl the oats, water,½ of banana (sliced), and chia seeds for about 2.5 minutes or until done.

Add chopped banana and wedged figs on top and sprinkle on the pecans! Complete it with a cup of joe!!! Delish!
