    Spicy Guacamole Turkey Burger

    spicy-guacamole-turkey-burger4

In my personal opinion, you have to have burgers in your life. It doesn’t matter if you’re a meat eater like me or a vegan. Burgers are so versatile and can be made from so many different combinations and techniques! You can make one from black beans, ground turkey, salmon, so many different options!

If you haven’t noticed a pattern from my last post, I am in a spicy food mood this week and I am just going to roll with it! Heck, spicy food is GOOD for you! Add some cayenne to your food and it raises your temperature boosting your metabolism!

Jake and I usually make burgers once a week. They are quick and easy and good on your wallet!

For this burger, I used my Jalapeno Turkey Burger recipe and added some spicy guacamole on top! And to keep it low carb I used butter lettuce to wrap my burger in. I didn’t even miss the bun with all that flavor!

For our side dish I made rutabaga fries and sweet potato fries. I’ve never tried rutabaga before, and I am so happy I tried it finally as fries, because honestly I couldn’t tell much of a difference from the real stuff! And I am so about getting all my veggies in everyday! I actually ate all the rutabaga fries, hence why they are not pictured…. Oops.

I will post the recipe for them next week though! So be on the look out!

Spicy Guacamole Turkey Burger is a great high protein low carb dish that is filled with hot peppery goodness that will have you coming back for more!

    Serves 4

To make the burgers: use my jalapeno turkey burger recipe for the turkey part ( I like to use Jennieo extra lean turkey :))

    For the guacamole:

    ½ of an avocado

    1 lime

¼ cup of fresh cilantro, chopped

2 slices of roma tomato, diced

    Salt and pepper

    ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

    Toppings:

    Butter lettuce

    Red onion

    More avocados

    Tomatoes

    More jalapenos (if you dare)

    Directions:

Once burgers are done, start on the guacamole

In a medium sized bowl, smoosh the avocado until it’s smooth

     Add lime juice and stir

Add remaining ingredients and combine until smooth.

Top each burger with desired toppings and a whopping dollop of that guac!

Enjoy with a bun or without!
